Marketing Department

Vice President of Marketing

The Vice President of Marketing will play an important part in developing and maintaining the association’s current social media presence. A candidate for this position is creative, excited, and always ready to work. They have a willingness to learn and grow in this ever-changing, fast-paced, and demanding environment. They will assist in event launching, analyzing strategy for ticket sales, and ensure the up-keeping of the JSBA brand.

Some of the responsibilities of the Vice President of Marketing will include, but are not limited to, creating marketing strategies, posting schedules, delegating tasks to directors, sponsorship packages & more.

Skills:

  • High level of proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat);
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment and under pressure;
  • Strong leadership skills an adaptability;
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • Committed to both maintain and improve JSBA’s reputation and marketing presence;
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, and Illustrator is an asset;
  • Both design experience and an understanding of data analysis is preferable.

Director of Social Media

The Director of Social Media will play an important part in developing and maintaining the association’s current social media presence. A candidate for this position is creative, excited, and always on the ball. They have a willingness to learn and grow in this ever-changing, fast-paced, and demanding environment. They will be posting all things JSBA throughout our social media.

Some of the responsibilities of the Director of Social Media will include, but are not limited to, scheduling posts in events and on our social media platforms, caption creation, answering comments and Facebook messages, keeping up to date with insights & more.

Skills:

  • High level of proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat);
  • Committed to both maintain and improve JSBA’s reputation and marketing presence;
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, and Illustrator is an asset;
  • Both design experience and an understanding of data analysis is preferable.

Director of Graphic Design

The Director of Graphic Design will play an important part in developing and maintaining the association’s current social media presence. A candidate for this position is creative, excited, and a design lover. They are always ready to get to work on a new set of event graphics. They will create all graphics for the events JSBA hosts, while ensuring the fluidity and professionalism remains.

Some of the responsibilities of the Director of Graphic Design will include, but are not limited to, designing and generating the graphics for all events, designing pamphlets, banner design, poster design & more.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, and Illustrator is highly recommended;
  • Both design experience and an understanding of data analysis is preferable;
  • High level of proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat);
  • Committed to both maintain and improve JSBA’s reputation and marketing presence;
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

External Affairs Department

Vice President of External Affairs

The Vice President of External’s main goal will be to build and maintain valuable relationships between JSBA and industry partners. They will also be asked to secure new sponsorship opportunities and speakers for JSBA’s events.  Moreover, their main focus will be to coordinate the strategic aspect of the External Team, in liaison with the VP Corporate Affairs, and with the support of the Director of External. All contacts with parties outside of the association will be made through the external affairs team.

Some of the responsibilities of the Vice President of External will include, but are not limited to, creating a master contact list, staying in touch with JSBA’s current partners, building new relationships with companies & more.

  • High level of proficiency in French & English (written and oral);

  • Driven and proactive;

Director of External Affairs

The Director of External’s main goal will be to assist and learn from the Vice President of External and Vice President of Corporate Affairs. They will also be responsible for representing JSBA in a variety of situations involving external parties. Indeed, they will be asked to follow-up and contact external parties via email, phone, or in a personal setting. Additionally, they will help in the brainstorming of ideas and design of the sponsorship packages.

Some of the responsibilities of the Director of External Affairs will include, but are not limited to, aiding the VP of External with contacting our sponsors, finding partners, attending events to meet new professionals & more.

Operations Department

Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations will work alongside their director(s) of operations. They will be the primary resource for the planning and coordination of JSBA’s events. A candidate for this position is a problem solver, can analyze situations from various points of view, and manage their workload on tight deadlines. They will be responsible for the booking of rooms and equipment for JSBA’s signature events, and keep their professional demeanor at all times.

The VP of Operations is also responsible to have all the knowledge required of the Director of Operations position in order to assist them in their duties.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to various circumstances;
  • Capable of managing complex situations in an organized manner;
  • Manage priorities and schedule around tight deadlines;
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills;
  • and an excellent problem solver;

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will work alongside their VP Operations. They will be a key player in building the foundation of all of JSBA’s events. A candidate for this position is a problem solver, logical thinker, and who has skills for planning and executing events. Essentially they will turn creative ideas and initiatives into reality.

Some of the responsibilities of the Director of Operations will include, but are not limited to, floor plan building, contacting venues and caterers, building task trackers & more.

Academics Department

Director of Academics - BTM

The Director of Academics for BTM will have as a goal, to promote and increase the knowledge of Business Technology Management within our community. You will also be the bridge between the students and the BTM department. You will be coordinating all necessary academic events that may benefit students, both in their courses and careers.

As a Director of Academics, you will become a resource to all students as well as a representative of JSBA with faculty interactions alongside the VP Academics. It is also expected that you bring new academic initiatives to JSBA. As well, many students ask questions on the JSBA facebook page and you must keep track of this and answer the questions.

Skills:

  • Passionate about Business Technology Management;
  • Good academic standing;
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken & written);
  • Highly proactive;
  • Possess a strong ability to work in a team environment;
  • Willingness to teach workshops is an asset.

The Director of Academics for SCOM will have as a goal, to promote and increase the knowledge of Supply Chain Operations Management within our community. You will also be the bridge between the students and the SCOM department. You will be coordinating all necessary academic events that may benefit students, both in their courses and careers.

As a Director of Academics, you will become a resource to all students as well as a representative of JSBA with faculty interactions, alongside the VP Academics. It is also expected that you bring new academic initiatives to JSBA. As well, many students ask questions on the JSBA facebook page and you must keep track of this and answer the questions.

Director of Academics - DI

The Director of Academics for DI will have as a goal, to promote and increase the knowledge of Data Intelligence within our community. You will also be the bridge between the students and the DI department. You will be coordinating all necessary academic events that may benefit students, both in their courses and careers. As this is a smaller field of study at JMSB, it is expected that you bring new academic initiatives to JSBA, and as such, you will need to be fiercely goal-oriented and autonomous.

As a Director of Academics, you will become a resource to all students as well as a representative of JSBA with faculty interactions alongside the VP Academics. Given the recent surge of interest in this field, the ideal candidate will keep up to date with the latest trends. Many students as questions on the JSBA facebook page and you must keep track of this and answer the questions.
